Why United States joined WWI

During the WWI (World War One) were multiple countries that formed and agreed to be allies with other countries. These allies are called the Central Powers which consisted of Germany, Austria-Hungagry, and the Ottoman Empire. The other allies are called the Triple Entente, but they were mostly known as the Allies which are the France, British, and Russia. The United State wanted  to repay the U.S for the money but, if the countries lose the war and the U.S will get no money.

The important thing in World War 1 even though their were many countries in the war fighting, the war wasn't going  anywhere. The war mostly going back and fort, unlike now in this generation, we have advance technology where we can send drones to do the work needed, compare to World War 1 where soldiers used trenches to take cover. After World War 1 the results were the Allies won against the Central Powers. The United States ensured the Allied paid off their debts to the United States and prevent the Germans from threatening U.S. shipping.

Start Of the civil war

War

The North and the South were different for many reasons, for example they had different religious and cultural views which meant they had different views on what they thought was right. They also had different ways in which they made money. The north had factories and were industrial while the south grew crops.

California was involved in the Civil War because this new state made a new constitution that didn't allow slavery and this made southerners angry because that meant that more that half of the United States believed that slavery should be abolished.

The fugitive slave law stated that alleged fugitive slaves were not entitled to a trail by jury and anyone helping slaves escape were entitled to pay a 1000 dollar fine and were placed in jail for up to 6 months. The south supported this law because this prevented people from attempting to help runaway slaves.

The Dred Scott case was about how an owner of a slave named Dred Scott took him from Missouri(a slave state) to Illinois then to Wisconsin. Dred Scott appealed to supreme court and stated he was a freeman, but the 5th amendment protected property and slaves were considered property. Northerners were outraged by the supreme's court decision and showered the court with insults.

The John Brown plan was that people seized the federal arsenal and to start a rebellion. He had hopes that people would see this as a chance to fight to abolish slavery and that people would help Brown and his abolitionist keep the federa.  Mnm. m me m).$. J. Jh h h.    Nl arsenal, but instead everyone was killed and brown was charged with treason and hanged for his crimes.

What happen during the succession of the south was that the North began to hear rumors of the south's succession. At first South Carolina succeed December 20, 1860, Mississippi later followed and the rest of the southern states began to succeed. The confederate unanimously elects Jefferson Davis as president.

Perdue Chicken

Perdue is a major chicken processing company in Salusbury, Maryland, founded in 1920. It began  by selling baby chicks to farmers who then raised the chicks into broilers (chickens for eating). The author of  "Abusing Chickens We Eat" is Nicholas Kristof from the New York Times. Kristof reported that the Perdue Company was treated the chickens we eat inhumanely. Some of the facts Kristof reported were taken by filming the chickens in their habitat. The chickens did not have enough space to move around and breath in. Chickens can hardly walk because of how heavy their enlarged breast are. The chickens also did not have natural light.

Food Inc.: How The Food Gets Inside of Us

Happy Meal from McDonald's for wanted kids.
When I was in 4th grade, McDonald's Happy Meals were my life. The food was good, but the reason why my mom was dragged to the restaurant was because of the special toys hidden deep down within those bright-red boxes. Troughout my childhood years I failed to realize the main purpose of the excitement that waited for me inside those boxes.

In the documentary film Food Inc., viewers were taken on a field trip, showing us the truth on how our Happy Meals  are made and  how McDonald's food eventually get inside of us

When  McDonalds first began, it was a regular restaurant. In the 1950's restaurants were all very similar, and McDonald's had food delivery on roller skates. One day the owners decided to cut costs and created a new process. This new process created a new idea on how restaurants of the future are going to work. In their new process, the McDonald brothers introduced the factory way of making food.

The factory way had less workers with lower pay. This new way helped the McDonald brothers to make more money by making more food at a lower cost. McDonald's became a very rich  company this it is today because of these changes.

The movie Food Inc., showed how the advantages of the first McDonald's restaurant switching to an assembly-line type  operation was that  one person did one thing and the worker could be less responsible and easily replace. 80%  of the American beef supply are controlled by four companies. The names of brands and labels placed on meat and dairy products in the supermarket were misleading. All labels have farmer this, farmer that and have a picture of a barn and green pastures when really they're produced in factories. There's two ways that chickens are physically different now than in they were in the 1950's such as chickens grew at faster rates because of hormones and chickens breast are a lot bigger because it sells more. Vince Edwards was the chicken grower working for Tyson, he was not giving permission to allow filmmakers inside his chicken houses. The reason why Tyson did not allow to have the filmmakers inside the chicken house was because Tyson chicken's are not being treated humanely and this is bad for the company because people might stop buying their chickens.

About 30% of the United States land mass is used to grow corn. The role that government policy plays in making corn such us a dominant crop. Everything is made of corn so, if we have too much corn we can sell it for cheaper meaning if we feed our pigs or cows corn, our cattle gets big and we did not pay much for the corn. The  large meat suppliers were interested in lobbying the government for subsides corn. The corn  is cheap and feeding their animals is cheap so that the cows get big and then they're slaughtered to make more meat. Some products that are partially made of corn are ketchup, jelly, jelly, and many many more. Cattle are used to eating grass but, farmers have started feeding them corn. Cows that eat corn  are getting various called E. Colli that can kill humans.

Kevin Kowalcyk died in 2001 of hemolytic-uremic  syndrome caused by eating ground beef  contaminated with E. Colin O157:H7. The U.S government was in any way responsible for Kevin's death. The FDA did not have enough inspections to insure meat safety.

Ammonia is an addictive that is used in some meat fillers to prevent E. Coli contamination.

Some food is cheaper than other food. These foods are fast foods, chips, and soda. The reason these food see cheaper because the government subsidizes the corn used to manufacture the cheap foods. The  obesity, diabetes, and poverty are linked  because the poor people can only afford the high calorie, high fat foods, were wired to eat high sodium, and high sugar food.

The USDA thinks Joel Saltin's farm is dirty because it is an open-air farm. The animals has less oppurtunity  for  contamination because they are fed natural foods. The large meat packing plants get most of their workers from far away and they are being abused to the meat packing  plants and also they're illegal immigrants from Mexico.

The cheap cost of factory food is  dishonest because the U.S, Mexico, and Canada  made a deal that no taxes will be charged for goods going across the borders. The U.S took the corn growing business away from the Mexicans because the U.S makes corn cheap in the U.S. The food corporations protected by laws because the government is being controlled by the factories.

Industrial Revolution

Thomas Edison is famous for invention of direct currents

The Erie canal  was man made this is significant to U.S because its used to transporting goods.

The freedom to own a private business without government  regulations.  An entrepreneur is a business man who he in search of profit.  They were important because they helped the economy grow and they create services that people buy and provide jobs.

Crude oil  is the most valuable natural resource  in the United States during the Industrial Revolution. Black gold (crude oil)  was significant because  it turned the  United States into an Indunstrial worldwide power. Black gold was turned into fuel and used to operate machinery.

Buildings changed and improved because William Le Barom Jenner  design d the first skyscraper with a steel frame that led to many more steel frame buildings.

GE Aviation is located in Cincinnati, Ohio and It is historical because it's where the wright brothers tested their  planes and it is also the birthplace of aviation.
Subtractive is when you take away from the metal while additive is when you put the parts on other parts reducing leftover materials and now your making less parts.
Direct Metal Laser Melting is when Laser melts together powdered metal until the design is fully grown. They make turbines more durable and make smaller lighter parts.
in my opinon this new industrial revolution is changing how we view things for example, instead of having a lot of big strong people we can  now have regular creative people working machines that'll make parts by simply typing in what you want. This saves money and space.

The Constitution of the U.S.

The constitution is a document showing the people what their right are,  and  also what  the limitations of the government are. The constitution is very important. It's important because it provides balance to society. (according to Ms. Reyes)

A centralized government has power  which can be exerted to federal states local authorities, and smaller units.

It is a governing structure for the nation it provides a set of rules to organize the government for the U.S. it was the first constitution for America and it was set  in the form of a national government.
